Небольшая историческая справка

Рабочий посёлок Адыгейский был основан в 1969 году для проживания жителей аулов и хуторов, затопленных при сооружении Краснодарского водохранилища. В новообразованный посёлок были переселены большинство жителей из затопленных аулов — Лакшукай, Ленинахабль, Новый Казанукай, Старый Казанукай, Нечерезий, Шабанохабль, Шаханчериехабль, Новый Эдепсукай, Старый Эдепсукай, а также посёлков Курго, Кармалино и Маяк. Из 4195 переселяемых семей в новый посёлок было переселено 1957 семей.

27 июля 1976 года рабочему посёлку Адыгейский был присвоен статус города и переименован в город Теучежск, в честь адыгского народного поэта-ашуга Цуга Теучежа.

26 сентября 1990 года Указом Президиума Верховного Совета РСФСР город Теучежск был переименован в Адыгейск.

A small historical reference

The working settlement of Adygeisky was founded in 1969 to house the inhabitants of auls and farms, flooded during the construction of the Krasnodar reservoir. Most of the inhabitants from the flooded villages - Lakshukai, Leninakhabl, New Kazanukai, Old Kazanukai, Nechereziy, Shabanokhabl, Shahancheriekhabl, New Edepsukai, Old Edepsukai, as well as the villages of Kurgo, Karmalino and Mayak were resettled to the newly formed settlement. Out of 4195 resettled families, 1957 families were resettled to the new settlement.

On July 27, 1976, the working village of Adygeisky was given the status of a city and renamed the city of Teuchezhsk, in honor of the Adyghe people's poet ashug Tsug Teuchezh.

On September 26, 1990 by the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR, the city of Teuchezhsk was renamed into Adygeisk.
